Week 09 was all about getting back into our routine. I made my first pie, got a much needed cut + color (and a ton of other stuff done), celebrated my brother-in-law's 40th and Morgan got her ears pierced. Lots of good things.
Week 10 included filing our taxes and enjoying the snow before it started warming up and melting. I also registered Parker for kindergarten in the fall. Crazy!
Even though I'm only working on my spreads every other week, I still plan my layout and print photos every Sunday. That's been a huge part of keeping it simple and putting it all together in an hour on Monday afternoons. In an effort to use some of the fun product that I often forget about, I've pulled out some supplies in coordinating colors to keep on my desk so I remember to add them to my spreads. Stuff like half- (or less) used mini letter stickers, a stamp set or two, some wood veneer, die-cuts and phrase stickers. Then after a few weeks, I'll put together a new collection.
Having a few things on hand is helpful for me when my spread needs a little something to balance it out. Like in this spread, the yellow and red Tim Hortons box was a little obnoxious because it was so bold and bright. I think the "come back sun" card brought out just enough yellow to balance the spread. I imagine I'll be adding more blues and greens to my layouts the next few months as spring arrives and the white and gray of the snowy winter disappear.
Extras for this spread : stickers, die cuts and cards from Ali Edwards Story Kits (Firsts and Gatherings), March calendar card from the Studio Calico Upcoming Year set, getting things done wood veneer from the On My Desk collection from Paislee Press for Gossamer Blue, Thumbs Up craft die from Studio Calico, Coffee Create Sleep Repeat stamp from Kellie Stamps, Come Back Sun card from the Spring Card set by LifeLovePaper for Studio Calico (I should have bought two of these because they are double-sided and so cute!)
