Our family was away from each other for a week and a half during Weeks 28 + 29, so rather than do my usual 2 weeks in one full spread, I opted to fit three weeks in one - 28 through 30. This spread doesn't include any of our time apart, but next week I'll have a layout to share on how I am including my and Mark's trips in my Project Life album. I am documenting Portland more extensively in a 6x8 Handbook and will post about that is I go along. I ordered my photos (over 120!) through Persnickety Prints yesterday and can't wait to get started.
What went on these 3 weeks? Playing + reading, beach time, lots of eating outside (my fave), the zoo, a checkup at the doctor + our first putt-putt game as a family. The kids loved that! Mark's grandfather also passed away after we got home, so I tried to tastefully include that in this layout. In the top right photo, Mark is holding a blue rose from the funeral flower arrangement from his grandchildren.
This spread was very simple in the fact that it's 8 4x6 photos and 8 journaling cards. Once I had the photos arranged the way I wanted, I slipped in 3x4 cards from Kelly's kit. Love that they have a summer theme and the colors went so well with my photos. Yeah when that happens! As usual, I added a little bit of typed journaling to most of my photos and embellished them with either a small sticker or chipboard, or stamped directly on the photo using the stamp set from the kit.
I also used the Mercer Alphabet Stamps for the 'shake it off' card, along with the days of the week from the Southport set. I really love those smaller alphas as an alternative to letter stickers. No need to worry about not having enough, or the right letters! On the M/P annual checkup report card, I circle punched this pattern out of a diagonal card in the kit, then stamped on the M and P. I stitched through the center of the card and then noted the kids height and weight from their doctors appointment. Parker is catching up to Morgan fast!
Don't forget to check out the other kit Kelly has available too. I personally think this one is going to go fast! It's the Reading List Mini in Minutes kit and mine literally came together in less than 30. Here's a spread from my 4x4 mini :
I'll share it in full on Monday. Have a great weekend!
