I'm back home after an awesome trip to Portland and ready to dig back into my creative projects! First up was to finish this Project Life spread from a couple weeks ago. At the end of May I started subbing to the Studio Calico Project Life kits, so this layout is primarily the Galileo Project Life kit, plus a little Carolina Moon and Fairground. This is the end of June + beginning of July :
Hello color! Water balloons, chopped veggies for gazpacho + blue skies at the beach. This is our summer! These are some of my favorite pieces from this spread :
- I cut down the world map card (which was a 4x6) and stitched on my journaling strips to break up the black background. The numbered cork circles helped me document two news stories from the week - the US Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage, and the Thrillist ranking of the 50 states.
- The yellow alpha stickers are so cool and the font + the color are just perfect. I typed my journaling on the bottom right photo from the beach but left space to add the letter stickers after it was printed.
- On the green "currently" card, typed out some things that were going on here, using the stamp set from the Galileo kit for prompts. After I printed and cut them into strips, I used gray ink to stamp the prompts next to each one and stitched each one down.
- I waited until I received my Fairground kit to call this spread done because I wanted to add the "Happy Fourth" card. I stapled a clear plastic star (it's hard to see in the photos) over the title and used a roller stamp (from the old Wanderlust line) to underline the words that helped describe our holiday.
We've passed the halfway mark on 2015 and I admittedly started brainstorming ideas for my 2016 Project Life album on the plane ride home last week. With both kids in school full time, I'm thinking about really changing it up again. It's fun to think ahead! Am I the only one?
