Happy New Year! Oh man, it’s been a while. Family life and the holidays were wonderful, but I admit everything else felt pretty meh over the last few months. Rather than ‘push through’ like they often tell you to do, I decided to give myself a break and relax. After getting back into our routine a few weeks ago, my head finally feels like it’s in a good place again and I’m itching to write and share in this space again. Here’s a bit of what’s been going on the past couple weeks :
catching up on podcasts that have been in my unplayed feed. My favorites right now include Raise Your Hand and Say Yes with Tiffany Han, Elise Gets Crafty, The Lively Show, Explore Your Enthusiasm and Serial.
finished my December Daily last week! I really didn't intend to not work on it in December but that's just what happened this time around. I set up my foundation pages in November, and other than printing photos and slipping them in the album, it remained untouched. I'm super thankful for that little log book that was included with Ali's main kit and happy that I at least kept up with my daily journaling. It was slow going at first, but after five full days, my album is complete and my desk is clear again (which is exciting in and of itself).
finished Hands Free Life last week and started The Alchemist yesterday. I wish I could remember where I read or heard the recommendation for The Alchemist, but wow, it's really wonderful. So many positive comments about it in my Instagram post over the weekend too.
planning my 2016 Project Life album, which really just consists of a bunch of page protectors and post-it notes right now. I'm changing it up again this year and going with monthly spreads for many reasons. I'm not taking as many photos these days, but I have a decent stash of page protectors I want to use too. Plus I'm not ready to completely stop yet either. Monthly spreads is a happy medium.
determined to wrap up my 2015 goal tracker and finish those last 14 layouts, even if it is past my self-imposed deadline. I'm so happy with what I did get done last year and boy was it fun to watch that sheet fill up.
tracking my daily habit to make something every day with Elise's goal tracker. I ended up printing it BIG as an 18x24 engineering print for less than $2 at Staples and Hero Arts ink daubers fill the circles perfectly. I plan to share my progress each month here.
moved into my 2016 Get To Work Book after deciding I wanted to get on a calendar year cycle last fall. I love it more than ever and who doesn't enjoy starting fresh at the beginning of a new year? If you missed it, I shared how I use mine for tackling daily tasks, as well as bigger projects and goals, here.
organizing lots of fun activities for our little Girl Scouts this year, including a museum visit and weaving workshop that I'm really looking forward to.
finding joy in volunteering in Parker's classroom once a week. It's a commitment that I leave feeling loved and appreciated, not like I "have to do it." So grateful that I can do things like that on a regular basis.
scheduling a meeting with myself at a new-to-me coffee shop to work on my 2016 goals and project ideas. January 1st is long gone, but that's okay. I'm ready now.
Here's to a great week and a great year and hopefully, some more regular blog posts. Thanks for being here!
